108 FASTER THAN 911

108 FASTER THAN 911
Study Says India’s Emergency Service Has Outpaced The US Version With Its Expansion Model And Innovation
Parth Shastri &

 TNN
Ahmedabad: Ten years ago, when it came to emergency  healthcare services, India was nowhere on the world map. However, the scenario changed rapidly once three magic figures 108 entered the scene. It soon became a household name in several states of India, including Gujarat.
A research published under the title ‘Innovation’s Holy Grail’ in a recent issue of Harvard Business Review delineates how 108 is an exemplary effort. Carried out by  management gurus CK Prahalad and RA Mashelkar, the study shows how 108 emergency service is an innovation that synthesizes research and te chnology.
According to the study, GVK Emergency Medical Research Institute (EMRI)-led 108 emergency service is fast emerging as a leading organization in emergency health sector worldwide owing to its cost-effective method and public- private partnership model. This has lent it an impeccable base where it is reaching out to 366 million persons in Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Goa, Chennai, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Assam, making it the world’s largest emergency management entity in just few years. The paper states that 108 services has outpaced the US’ 911 service with  its huge expansion model and innovation. ‘EMRI spent only 50 cents per person treated to build the infrastructure in India, compared to $100 in the US. The expense per ambulance visit is less than $15, visa- vis $600 to $800 in the US,’ states the paper.
‘As the only emergency responder in the world with a research institute, EMRI is at the forefront of identifying ways to improve knowledge and practices. It archives all calls and analyses data to compile regional public health profiles. For the first time in India, data on the timing and nature of medical emergencies is available,’ states the study.
Babu Thomas, head of HRD of Gujarat GVK EMRI, told TOI that Gujarat has a share in the success story. “With an emergency management centre opening in Kathwada this month, Gujarat has become one of the states with exemplary speed, scale and cost-effective measures. The state also contributes to continuous research that we undertake to study the patterns of emergency and most vulnerable groups,” he said.
The Gujarat model was also presented by Subodh Satyawadi, COO of Gujarat chapter in US last month in front of representatives of World Bank, United Nations Population Fund, United States Agency for International Development.

VERY Important INFO about Water Bottle!!

How to avoid:
Check on the bottom of the bottle there is a triangle sign and there will be a number on it.

If the number is higher than or equal to 5 --> then this bottle is safe to use.

Whatever number under 5, will release the chemical. For most bottle water, the number is 1.

Did you know chemical released by plastic water bottles can cause cancer
(It is not the water that affecting you but the chemical releasing from the bottle)

Pass this to all your friends and also make them aware of it

Friends Must Read

Heyyyyyyyyy Dear Friends,

I'm sending this to you to see how
many actually read their e-mail.

Your response will be interesting.

Pay attention to what you read.

After you have finished reading it, you will know the reason it was
sent to you.

Here goes:

cid:525581621@09042009-3706

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.

When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that
person..

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need
you have expressed.

They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with
guidance and support,

To aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually.

They may seem like a godsend and they are.

They are there for the reason you need them to be.

Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time,

this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an
end.

Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.

Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.

What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire
fulfilled, their work is done.

The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

cid:525581621@09042009-370d

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has
come to share, grow or learn.

They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.

They may teach you something you have never done.

They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.

Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.

cid:525581621@09042009-3714

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons,

things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional
foundation.

Your job is to accept the lesson,

love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other
relationships and areas of your life.

It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

cid:525581621@09042009-371b

Thank you for being a part of my life,

whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime.

ING House in Amsterdam - Amazing Office Photos Of ING Group..

ING House in Amsterdam -
Amazing Office Photos Of ING Group..

ING House is the head office of ING Group. ING House contains
the board room, offices for senior management and a number of
corporate departments.

The building was designed to reflect the image of ING: innovative
and transparent, dynamic and sustainable. The open plan and glass walls
help facilitate communication across departments and complement
ING's dedication to transparency.

ING House was designed by Amsterdam-based Meyer and
Van Schooten Architects.

It has a streamlined shape in anodized aluminium and glass and is
constructed like a table on 16 steel legs. The legs stand freely
on pins in large concrete blocks in the ground, a technique used
in bridge building.

The building is 28 meters wide, 138 meters long and at the highest point
of its 10 floors, 48 meters tall. The total site area is 5,600m2.
ING House has a lobby, 250 seat auditorium, a foyer, restaurant,
library, more than 800m2 of conference rooms and 160 parking spaces.

The inside of the building is home to an impressive art collection and
about half the total office space is reserved for “flexible
work stations, which give employees the chance to change their
working environment. Most employees also enjoy a view of one of
the six inner gardens.

These gardens were designed by landscape architect Michael van Gessel
and each has its own theme. The gardens are integrated into the
design of the building and considered visual highlights. The lobby
features a bamboo garden in a bed of moss and plates of Belgian
blue limestone and the main path of Chinese granite that runs
from the main entrance through the hall to a fifty-metre long quay
in the water of the Nieuwe Meer.

The ground-breaking ceremony took place on 16 November 1999 and
ING House was officially opened on 16 September 2002 by Prince
Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands.
